Nearly 25 years into democracy, and thousands of school children in South Africa still use pit latrines.
As we mark World Toilet Day, we look at government’s failure to provide proper sanitation to all its people.
Michael Komape’s death will always be a reminder of this failing.
Aged just five, he died after falling into a pit latrine at his school in Limpopo in 2014.
eNCA’s Masego Rahlaga visited a few places in Gauteng and Limpopo last week, where people still don’t have access to adequate sanitation. Courtesy #DStv403
