Описание: A Self-Arrest pole is always in your hand should you ever, suddenly, unexpectedly slip and fall and slide down the hillside. This is a short video showing how a snow-hiker, while traversing a steep, snowy slope, can easily and quickly find their self-arrest device, lock it into the self-arrest position across their chest, roll to the shoulder where the pick is, place their chest and body weight upon it, and affect a stop before going too far down the hill.

Since a Self-Arrest pole should always be carried across steep slopes in the downhill hand, this vid shows it in the right hand. Practice your self-arrest technique in the left hand, as well, because you can be going either way across the hillside when you slip and fall.
