The Northshore Mining Railroad, which operates between Silver Bay an Babbitt, MN, is a unique mining operation that uses a variety of EMD power. Using a variety of SD40-3s and SD9043MACs, this railroad moves both raw ore and tailings in the northern part of Minnesota. Raw ore trains can be seen using three or more units on the head end, while tailings trains utilize a standard cab EMD on each end. Enjoy the sounds of roaring dynamics and notch 8 action!
