In today’s Gospel, Jesus says: “Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.” This reflection invites us to understand that Christ does not abolish God’s Law; He brings it to its deepest meaning: the heart transformed by love, mercy, truth, and communion with the Father. Christian life is not a vague freedom to live as we please, nor a dry legalism of external observance. In Christ, the commandments become the path of life, and love is guided by the truth of God. To follow Jesus is to let His grace write the Law within our hearts, so that even small daily choices become places where we love God and neighbor in freedom.
