En 1854, l’ancienne église du Haut Saint-Pierre a été démolie.
Une nouvelle église fut alors construite au cœur du village même de Villers-Stoncourt, et inaugurée en 1856, pour être plus accessible aux fidèles.
Ce changement correspond à une époque où les villages réorganisaient souvent leurs lieux de culte et habitats après plusieurs siècles d’évolution démographique et sociale.
In 1854, the old church of Haut Saint-Pierre was demolished.
A new church was then built in the heart of the village of Villers-Stoncourt itself, and inaugurated in 1856, to be more accessible to the faithful.
This change reflects a period when villages often reorganized their places of worship and dwellings after several centuries of demographic and social evolution.
