The Sleepwalker' is an original project by Massimo Spano who has put together an unconventional group of nine elements including two doublebasses, a wind section of four saxophones and a trumpet, a guitar and a poliedric percussionist on drums.
The Rural Elecrification Orchestra, while reaching its somewhat difficult objective of creating an original sound while maintaining an extended organic structure, has improvisation, and therefore the creativity of each soloist, at the heart of its strength.
The compositions, written and arranged by Massimo Spano, are the living opera of a group that improvises with an objective, where free expression among the various elements does not contrast but brings about a flowing policromatic mosaic of sound in which one recognizes an imaginary painting or a tale without words, as in the tradition of jazz.
