Session Description:
In this session we will be using three large, recently conducted, NIH-sponsored clinical trials, evidenced-based management strategies in young children with acute otitis media (treatment, appropriate duration of treatment and management of recurrent acute otitis media) will be addressed. This session will highlight methodological similarities of these trials, stringency of diagnostic criteria and follow-up, role of nasopharyngeal colonization, as well as future research related to improved treatment options and artificial intelligence for diagnosing acute otitis media.
