First Day in Tokyo! Exploring Shibuya & Shinjuku 🇯🇵

Our first full day in Tokyo, that became a GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION! 🇯🇵

We start at Meiji Shrine, a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city, where we were lucky enough to witness a traditional Japanese wedding... the bride and groom looked stunning in their Edo-period outfits. From there, we dive into the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world—Shibuya Crossing! After watching Alice in Borderland, seeing it in real life felt surreal. Of course, we also stopped by the Hachikō statue, a symbol of loyalty and devotion, dedicated to the famous Akita dog who waited for his owner every day, even after his passing.

Next, we grabbed coffee at Starbucks Shibuya for the perfect time-lapse of the crossing before heading into Shibuya 109, a shopping mall packed with Tokyo’s trendiest teen fashion. Afterward, we explored Tokyu Food Show, trying fresh pancakes (one with red bean, one with custard, guess who liked what? 😆) and some colourful dim sum or pork buns?

To wrap up, we took in Tokyo’s skyline from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, a FREE observation deck offering unreal city views. The best part? Random locals playing the piano, adding a magical touch to the experience.

Tokyo, you’ve already blown us away, and this is just the beginning!
