I'm going to take you along on my journey to get several of my quilt tops finished this year and we're starting on the Double Wedding Ring Quilt. This has been one of my goals for decades. I finally finished the quilt top a couple of years ago and now I'm ready to do the hand quilting. I expect that there will be a lot of quilting going into the project before we finish.

I've selected a template for my center designs and we'll start on those. Then, we'll move on to the quilting of the rings and finally the edges and borders. It should be fun and I'm sure that we'll all learn something along the way.

I'll have a video for this series every other Friday starting today with this video on Joining your Batting. This is a big quilt - 96 inches by 96 inches - and I need to add a strip of batting to make it fit. After planning to use some batting tape, I finally decided to stitch it together. Take a look at how this came about and what the finished batting looks like.

In our next video, we'll start sandwiching this together. Check us out in two weeks for that one.
