After paralysis, hand and leg exercises are not the only requirements, but “strengthening the back muscles is also very important.” When the back (i.e., core) is weak, the patient is unable to sit, stand, or walk, and it becomes difficult. In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan teaches how a patient can be empowered to stand and walk again by moving in the right way.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀:
Core strength is vital: If the patient is unable to sit, then walking becomes impossible.
First exercise (Bridging): The patient should lie down and lift the waist up and hold it for 10 seconds. This gives strength to the muscles.
Second exercise (Standing with support): Try to stand while holding the railing or grill. This improves balance and weight-bearing.
Third exercise (Walking practice): Take slow steps forward, even if it is with support. It brings back balance and coordination.
Brain retraining is also important: When the damaged part of the brain does not work, then the new part learns. For this, it is necessary to practice repeatedly.
Regular practice = Faster recovery: Make it a part of your daily routine for quick improvements and sustainable results.
The recovery of patients with paralysis does not depend solely on medication. With the right exercise and regular practice, the patient can stand and walk again.
👉 Keep in mind: Every patient's condition is different. Before starting any exercise, consult a physiotherapist or doctor.
