Scottish Hike Club Takes on Famous Rob Roy Trail in 15 km Icy Snowy New Year Walk 2026

Описание: E.K. Hiking Club New Year Hike Was A Huge Success

East Kilbride Hiking Club took to the Rob Roy Way en masse for its first walk of the year on which high and low level hikers all walked together.
A nearly packed coach took 49 members and visitors from the pick-up point behind the Murray Owen centre to Stirling motorway services for a comfort stop then on to Aberfoyle in the Trossachs to start their hike.

The 15.5km track though the Loch Ard Forest south of the village was attractive in the snow but it was icy and required constant care, with most walkers using hiking poles and some also grips on their soles.

After a quick change back in Aberfoyle it was off to Callander where the group scattered to various places for a beverage or a bite to eat before a relaxing trip home.

EKHC welcomes visitors and new members to join them on their fortnightly 2026 hikes.
