The milk from the vending machine is raw milk. It is only filtered after milking - i.e. not heat-treated - and then cooled. This raw milk may not be sold at the milk machine at most one day later. Despite strict hygiene measures, raw milk can contain unwanted bacteria. These can lead to serious infectious diseases. Toddlers, the elderly, pregnant women or immunocompromised people are particularly at risk. The note "RaW milk, boil before eating!" at the milk machine should therefore be followed in any case. The full-bodied taste and many of the valuable nutrients of the milk are not or only slightly lost by boiling.
