This is the account of our frightening experience as the Bridgewater Canal breached at Little Bollington, on New Year's day! This breach took place after 16 hours of non-stop heavy rain, that filled the canal up so much that it was going above the towpath and flooding over this put so much pressure on a 260-year-old canal embankment that it completely collapsed into the worst breach since 1971, when the canal breached here, in the exact same spot! In This Video, we walk to Dunham Massey, now the flooding has subsided, and check out the other side of the breach! And witness Peel Holdings, attempt to patch up the leaky stop planks on the Manchester side, using sandbags. We also attempt to get a shot of the canal breach on foot, but the field was still flooded. I flew my drone again and witnessed a further collapse, while people were still breaking in and getting dangerously close to the edge!
