Описание: Late last night, I started working on this song as somewhat of a joke ... but it turned into something so much more. There's so much passion and emotion we've put into this song.

Middle school was one of the most horrifying times of my life. It was a time when I had no friends and it was a time where I couldn't adjust to the newfound adolescence becoming me. I won't go to explain the extent of my depression from back then, but it consumed my life whole. This song comes from a 12 year old me feeling emotionally and stranded in corner of a school auditorium, finding no courage to dance with others. This song comes from a place in my heart that has needed to sing for nearly 8 years.

I feel like, for the longest time, I hadn't been able to express any form of emotion at all. I feel like I had been holding my breath and looking over my shoulder every waking hour of the day. But the more I wrote this song, the more I felt the ultimate catharsis unfold. It was the summer of 2012 that I came back to school, afraid to allow myself to be different - I had joined the MLP fandom and everyone in my class knew about it. I couldn't stand the thought of being put down and bullied anymore than I always, but I found myself among people who accepted me for who I was for once. I learned then, that it's being different that makes us who we are, and not trying to be someone or something you're not.

That's the moment I felt like I wasn't a stranger anymore.

After making this song, I feel like .. I can feel again. I feel like I can express myself openly once more. I feel like things can be okay. In the end, I think I've written this anthem to give that 12 year old me a place to finally rest in my heart - and my soul finally feels assured.

This song was made, from start to finish, in 4 hours. The last version of the song was exported at 12:34am.
