Porcupine Gorge National Park has towering cliffs of coloured sandstone with permanent waterholes along Porcupine Creek that contrast with the surrounding savanna plains. The gorge is located about 60km north of Hughenden with a campsite right next to the walking track that descends into the gorge.
Porcupine Creek has carved an impressive canyon that reveals different levels of sedimentary rocks spanning hundreds of millions of years. The eroding action of the creek also created The Pyramid. A multicoloured sandstone formation rising from the floor of the gorge.
Pyramid lookout and Gorge Lookout also provide sweeping views across the gorge and down into Porcupine Creek and are both easily accessible.
Once again, I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
