Dr. De Las Peñas is a Mathematics professor from Ateneo de Manila University. She has written research about weaving maths, symmetry in handwoven mats, and weaving symmetry in the Kankana-ey of northern Philippines. Dr. De Las Peñas is currently a Visiting Professor at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.
