On January 24, 2015, the FBI took charge of a security incident at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after bomb threats were posted on Twitter targeting two incoming flights—Delta 1156 from Portland and Southwest 2492 from Milwaukee. The threats, allegedly sent by Twitter handle @kingzortic, were directed at the airlines' official accounts. After the planes landed safely, all passengers were evacuated and their luggage was searched by bomb-sniffing dogs. The incident led to partial airport shutdowns as the FBI launched an investigation into the credibility and source of the online threats.
