In the 1999 test, the performance test as almost identical. But for the 2000, and 2001 bench test programs.The ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 out performed the 7500 chip.
• 3DMark99 Results 2:45 - ATI 7500=6030 - ATI 9000=6003
• 3DMark2000 Results 11:58 - ATI 7500=6477 - ATI 9000=14052
• 3DMark2001 Results 20:35 - ATI 7500=3898 - ATI 9000=9501
If you are planning on using the T42 to play games that are compatible with windows 98/95 era games pre-2000. You should be able to use any T42 laptop. If you need any extra performance to run a server or do any heavy rendering or plan on playing games from 2001 or newer. Look for a laptop with the 9000 or 9600 series GPU and faster processor.
