This soft spoken literature/culture ASMR podcast takes a look at the History of The Nutcracker - a ballet that is so beloved, it has turned into a cultural phenomenon. Together, we'll explore its origins in the classic (and surreal) children's story by ETA Hoffmann, then discover how it was transformed into a lavish ballet production by Marius Petipa - with soaring music by Tchaikovsky. We'll then take a look at how The Nutcracker has adapted with the times... and is now available across a variety of formats and genres.
My heartfelt thanks to @ShiftyRussianASMR for her fabulous recordings of the St Petersburg ballet critics! Check out her channel for more ASMR content - / @shiftyrussianasmr
