The new website of the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan is part of this vision, and we are proud that the I.T Department completed this important project with quality and expertise. On this occasion, Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Shahbaz Khan appreciated the role of the Information Technology Department and said that their hard work and professionalism have made this important project a success. He said that with the help of the website, citizens will have instant access to election related laws, voter registration process and other important information, which is very important for an active and informed society. This platform will not only create convenience for voters but will also further strengthen public confidence in the electoral process. He added that the services of the Election Commission have been made more effective and transparent with the use of modern technology, and this initiative is a practical step towards Digital Gilgit-Baltistan. He further said that this year’s election in Gilgit-Baltistan will be a most transparent election in history. Secretary Information Technology Riaz Ahmed, Provincial Election Commissioner Abid Raza, and other officers were also present on the occasion. Officials of the Information Technology Department reviewed various features of the website during the ceremony. He highlighted the features and said that this platform is secure, user-friendly and based on complete information. It will be updated regularly with election laws, voter forms, and other important information so that the public can get all possible conveniences. The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of various government agencies, media, civil society and other distinguished guests, who termed this step as a positive development towards digital governance in Gilgit-Baltistan. This website will not only promote transparency and public participation in the electoral process but will also lay the foundation of a strong, trustworthy and modern electoral system.
