Tyler ends his relationship with Katherine, now they both suffer from separation anxiety such is shown through acts of violence. Katherine wants to hurt Tyler as much as he hurt her, so she uses Stefan to do so. She eventually leaves Mystic Falls when the pain becomes too much. But after a while Stefan calls her to tell her that a very powerful witch from Katherine's past has put a spell on Tyler which is taking his life from him slowly. Katherine makes it back in time to say goodbye.
