Blended Iced Caramel Latte: Noreen's Kitchen Quickie

Greetings! It may have cooled off a bit (I use that term loosely) we are starting to get some rain, but Rick and I are still not ready to enjoy hot coffee just yet. We usually enjoy some iced coffee in the morning made from coffee that we brew at bed time and it cooled and ready by morning. Today we are using the same coffee, cooled and ready but we are making a blended iced caramel latte!

This drink is really easy to make. You will need a blender to mix it and you can add as much or as little ice as you like. We like this to be cold but not like a slushy, but if you like it that way, simply add more ice until you reach the desired consistency.

We made enough to fill 5 16 ounce glasses. We started with 3 cups of cold strong coffee added 1 cup of half and half as well as a healthy 1/4 cup of Dulce De Leche, canned caramel which can be found in the Latin food section of your grocer. Basically it is sweetened condensed milk that has been cooked in a low water bath until it caramelizes. It is wonderful and a nice addition to your pantry. Blend all that together then add your ice blend again and enjoy!

That's it! Simple right? There is no way you need to spend $6.00 for one of these at your local coffee house. You can make enough for 5 people to enjoy a "venti" or a 20 ounce drink at home for less than what I would estimate around $4.00.
