Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji believes that for a developed India, the Northeastern states must rise together. With this vision, historic investments of ₹72,468 crore are transforming rail connectivity across the region, ensuring faster travel, stronger trade, and enhanced passenger comfort.

Key Progress Highlights:
• ₹11,486 crore railway budget for the North East accelerating projects and execution.
1900 km of new railway tracks built in 11 years, surpassing Sri Lanka’s total rail network.
100% electrification completed in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, and Mizoram; Assam at 98%.
Redevelopment of 60 stations underway with an investment of ₹2101 crore.
Introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper services and plans for bullet train extension up to Siliguri, opening future connectivity to Guwahati.
Cross‑border projects with Bhutan and rapid progress on Dimapur–Kohima, Jiribam–Imphal lines, strengthening regional integration.
