About Udbhav
UDBHAV is a National level Debate competition that invites freshers from colleges and universities across India to participate in 2 Day Conventional Cum Parliamentary formats of debating in Hindi. UDBHAV, which means ‘origin’ or ‘source’, started to provide a platform for budding debaters to showcase their talent and ski ls in the art of argumentation and persuasion. UDBHAV was formerly known as KMC FRESHERS has been held annually for 15+ Years. UDBHAV aims to promote a culture of critical thinking, constructive dialogue, and democratic values among the youth of India. The debate is judged by a panel of experienced adjudicators, who evaluate the teams based on their content, style, and strategy.

About KMC DEBSOC
The Debating Society, Kirori Mal College was established in 1958 under the guidance of Frank Thakurdas, a celebrated figure of our college. The Society is one of the oldest debating societies in the University. Over the years, it has earned a prestigious status in the national
debating circuit. The Society has the unique distinction of being the oldest bilingual society with both the English and Hindi sections, unified under one structure. The Society organises two inter college debating competitions, hosting both national and international teams. These include the Frank Thakurdas Memorial Debate (the second oldest English Parliamentary Debate in the country) and N.S Pradhan Memorial Parliamentary Debate (Asia’s first Hindi Parliamentary Debate). We also organise two fresher tournaments each year (in Hindi and English respectively) to initiate the first-year debaters into the circuit with an average pool of 300-350 people for every year.
