As the Iran–US war escalates across the Middle East, something unusual has been happening far above the battlefield, while most of us are concerned about U.S. ground invasion in Iran.
A Chinese satellite analytics company called MizarVision has been posting a series of high-resolution satellite images showing U.S. military deployments across the region.
These images track the movement of U.S. aircraft carriers like USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford, along with American airbases and military facilities across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel. Some of the posts even show the locations of Patriot missile defense systems, air-defense interceptors, refueling aircraft, and military infrastructure, as well as damage to bases and facilities following Iranian missile strikes at Israel and middle east countries.
But here’s the strange part.
MizarVision doesn’t actually operate any satellites.
According to satellite analysts, many of the images appear to originate from Western commercial satellite providers, while others may come from China’s rapidly expanding space based imaging network, including the Jilin-1 satellite constellation operated by Chang Guang Satellite Technology.
So why are these images being published openly online?
Are they meant to help Iran…
Or are they part of China's invisible wafare against U.S.?
