"While the spitter may look terrifying, it is actually less dangerous than the average zombie, although when accompanied with other zombies they can be your worst nightmare. the spitters only way of attack is spitting liquid at its prey. much of this liquid (about 60% of it) is stomach acid and this is stored in the body in large quantities, giving the spitter the bloated look.. One of the strangest things about this zombie is that the head seems to be at a very awkward angle and the neck is actually broken. there are many theories as to why this is, but the most probable one is that since the second most common liquid found in a spitters projectiles is blood and a broken (and therefore bloody) neck would add the blood to the liquid and allow the a projectile to be launched easier, not to mention there being more to launch in the first place. while the spine of the creature is broken, the main control lies in the body instead of the head (the brain is actually completely dead) and only controls the head through a few nerve endings.
the spitter is the speed of an average zombie and aside from knowing how and where to shoot (by means not known) it is if possible stupider than a normal zombie. It does however possess the ability to psychologically terrorize and this may trick you into thinking their deadlier than they really are. the spitters spit does burn, but unless it hits a vital point is used mainly for distraction. think about it, its harder to battle zombies when your getting blood and stomach acid splattered on your face."
I'll just be up front and say this one is weird, and also likely my least favorite. My software didn't save it properly the first time, so when I came back to it later, it always had a shadow of comparative mediocrity. In short I had a bad time.
There's also the fact that this zombie makes sounds THROUGH A BROKEN NECK, and being a human with a decidedly un-broken neck, I can't replicate the desiccated, gargling noises it makes without either killing myself of drowning (which both ultimately do the same thing). But it's ok because this video's getting views in the double digits so who's really going to see? lol
That being said I'm looking back at the description now and the broken neck thing doesn't make a lot of sense. So if I can make a little edit to my own thing: there's no good reason for the Spitter's broken neck. It's just something that happens as a result of violent contractions.
