We're Pen and Stu an original contemporary folk duo from York.

We play BIG whistles and tenor guitars.

Our songs, written by Pen, tell stories about famous characters from history and folklore, heroes, villains and pirate queens. 

"We've been having a great year, performing at festivals and other gigs, building our fanbase, selling our new album and gaining interest in our original songs. 

We've gained fans who were previously not into folk music, much to our surprise and delight, and theirs! We've had some wonderful reactions to and feedback from our songs and performances, including a lovely review from FATEA Magazine for our album, 'Ravenswood,' available on Bandcamp."

Pen and Stu are the Folkscape Live artist of the month for March 2024. They are in excellent company – the Folkscape Live artist of the month for February 2024, was Seth Lakeman.


They are also the inaugural performers in the Folkscape Live ‘The Black Box’.
