'Venford Falls' by Susan Taylor, read by Bill Brealey. This piece is a written submission that features in the DPA's Wild Words magazine, recorded as part of a pairing exercise. People were invited to be paired with a piece of of writing and record themselves reading it aloud, leading to many wonderful new connections between people and the moor.
Wild Words is a compilation of writing inspired by Dartmoor. It began as a callout to local writers, essayists, diarists, poets and lyricists and quickly became a wonderfully eclectic selection of pieces written on, featuring or prompted by the moor. The DPA's vision is that, through reading and sharing these stories, people will discover, or strengthen, their connection to Dartmoor. We believe that a strong connection to the landscape inspires activism, accountability, stewardship and a sense of responsibility.
