Highway 1 Vancouver - Travelling eastbound on Highway 1 through Metro Vancouver, the 3rd largest metro area in Canada, and the second largest in the Pacific Northwest, after Seattle.
Highway 1 in Metro Vancouver opened between 1960 and 1964, with sections of the Upper Levels Highway on the North Shore opening in 1957.
We head east on Highway 1 from West Vancouver to Langley, via the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge between North Vancouver and Vancouver, and the Port Mann Bridge between Coquitlam and Surrey. We also cross over the Golden Ears Bridge, connecting Langley and Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows.
