Great Crossing Park Low Head Dam Removal Georgetown Scott County KY started on 8/18/2025. A collection of drone video clips showing the start of the removal process of the low head dam at Great Crossing Park in Georgetown, Scott County, KY. This dam was created as part of the flood control of the Elk Horn Creek. This dam was described as having structural problems and the cost to repair it was more than the county wanted to spend. Several other dams in Kentucky are rumored to be removed in the coming years.
