A Corn Huskin' Proposal

Описание: So at Meredith College's annual Cornhuskin' celebration I proposed to the love of my life, Crystal Marie Isaacs. Below is the poem I wrote to propose to her. Thank you to all those who helped this to be a huge success and thanks to our friends and family who showed up to give their support and love. (Spoiler: she said yes)


Ladies and gentlemen and angles alike
May I have your attention for a moment tonight?
The scores must be tallied, I won't take much time
And in Meredith fashion I promise I'll rhyme

Can I get crystal Isaacs to come to the front?
After all she's the reason I am pulling this stunt
Our story is simple so I will now share
How we fell for each other and found our way here

A bible study is where I first saw her face
My heart didn't pause, it simply took chase
She wasn't quite ready, and so she resisted
But I knew she was worth it and so I persisted

It's been three years since we started to date
And for our life together I know I can't wait
I've ask your dad, he said it's ok
So I've got a big question to ask you today

This ring it is special and not very new
My granddaddy gave it to his love, now I give it to you
Crystal I love you, a bushel and a peck
I'll love you forever on that I am set

My darling sweet girl, my Crystal Marie
I'm yours forever, will you marry me?
