Emotions ran high in a Queens courtroom Wednesday as a man appeared to answer to charges of depraved murder and assault in the death of a 3-year-old girl.
At one point officers had to clear the courtroom when the family of the victim, Bella Edwards, started screaming at the defendent, Marc Jenkins, 32, of Seaside.
It happened after Jenkins' attorney asked the judge to place her client in protective custody in jail.
