The Power of Partnership: Making a Real Difference for South Africa’s Abandoned Children
In South Africa, the abandonment of newborns is a heartbreaking crisis. Each year, an estimated 3,500 babies are left in dire circumstances - dustbins, fields, and public spaces - struggling to survive. At GAP Talent, we’re committed to making a difference with our Talent Partners; joining forces to help support the Door of Hope Children’s Mission in Johannesburg.
Since 1999, Door of Hope has offered refuge to abandoned babies, providing immediate safety through innovative measures like their “baby bin.” With three baby homes, the mission cares for up to 80 children at a time, meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. In response to declining adoption rates, Door of Hope is developing a Children’s Village - a family-centered sanctuary for children who are not adopted, ensuring each child grows up in a loving, supportive environment.
