A small roof fire in the Alexandra hotel, despite the small scale of the fire, there was fairly extensive damage to the roof, the corner tower came under threat at one point.
The fire was attended by five appliances and the Police closed the roads surrounding Trinity church.
Later, during the incident, a fire hydrant burst, much to the joy of local youths.
