"We've had a number of other composers besides Chance writing music for LOTRO over the years. Here's a summary of how it breaks down to hopefully clarify things a bit:

The music from the earliest areas of the game up through Central Gondor was composed by Steve DiGregorio and Egan Budd.

The music for South Ithilien, Osgiliath, Minas Tirith, Pelennor, and North Ithilien was composed by Matt Harwood. He also wrote the combat music for the Battle of the Black Gate, as well as a landscape track and two combat tracks for The Wastes.

The majority of music for The Wastes landscape, instances, and combat was composed by Bill Champagne. He also wrote the new tracks for the Cape of Belfalas housing area."

Let us appreciate the beauty of LOTRO soundtrack and Tolkien’s world. I do NOT own the music and I won’t be posting officially released tracks. If you like their work, please follow the artists. Show your support by purchasing their products and playing the Lord of the Rings Online!




IMAGES & GAME GRAPHICS

Most of the screenshots were found online and credits belong to their respective authors, of whom, I'm sure, there are many. Take note of different graphic settings and enhancements used. The original engine of the game is quite old if we judge by present standards, but for the sake of Middle-earth immersion there are many graphical enhancements to be used. Firstly, in newer regions LOTRO’s graphics (if set to high) seem to improve however they can and take as much as possible from the engine. Secondly, there are plenty of options to choose from in order to make LOTRO even more beautiful and the environment of Middle-earth ever-captivating, such as simple tweaks in your graphic card settings or external graphic filter ReShade.

If you feel like you want to play LOTRO, don’t let the looks from older trailers, YouTube videos or recent official material scare you away. Most of them, if not all, are converted raw footage (not necessarily on high settings) and cannot portray what could be done if you utilize enhancers. You can give them a try and pick your own aesthetic. Middle-earth is still very much alive and there are more adventures to be undertaken!




THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE

Lord of the Rings Online is a game set in a fantasy universe based upon J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings. It takes place during the time period of The Lord of the Rings. Naturally, LOTRO includes original content by the creators of the game but – as far as MMORPG nature of the game allows – tries to respect the original material and Tolkien’s vision of the world, building upon certain foundations of Tolkien and imagining in the loopholes where possible and necessary (thus, bringing Middle-earth to life as never seen before). Many among Tolkien scholars has taken note of the game, becoming faithful players themselves. In addition to regular updates, many expansion packs have been released to date: Mines of Moria in 2008, Siege of Mirkwood in 2009, Rise of Isengard in 2011, Riders of Rohan in 2012, Helm's Deep in 2013, Mordor on August 2, 2017. As of Mordor expansion, the Quest of the Ring has ended and the game entered entirely new chapter that deals with Mordor after the Fall and following events of the Fourth Age.
