Vic residents return home after floods

Описание: Residents in Victoria are coping with the aftermath of floods that lashed the eastern suburbs last week.

Traralgon residents are now back home after their second evacuation order with one resident, Bryan Macvoy, recalling the severity of the floods.

“It was almost up to our knees in the house. It was probably up to our waist — almost to our chest out in the backyard,” Mr Macvoy said.

On Sunday 39,000 homes in storm and flood-affected areas were still without power and thousands may have to wait days for it to return.

Acting Premier James Merlino has announced financial support of up to $42,250 which includes grants for immediate hardship and residential homes.
