We arrived in this valley and there's something heavy in the air. It's a massive city, built on a lake that no longer exists, and it feels as if the water below still has a memory.

We took shelter from the rain in an old pulquería. An old man, his gaze lost in the storm, saw us with our guitars and laughed. He asked if all the songs we sang were about the cowboys and outlaws of our land. We told him we sing the stories we find on the road.

Then, in a low voice, as if telling a forbidden secret, he told us the story of this very night, but five centuries ago. He spoke of a causeway, a cursed treasure, and a night when, according to him, "the lake drank an army."

We didn't understand everything he said. He spoke of jaguar warriors and men with skin of metal. But what we did understand was the emotion in his voice: a mix of savage pride and a profound sadness. He was telling us the story not of a defeat, but of a vengeance. A night when this land defended itself with a fury that shook the world.

We left that place with our heads full of images of rain, blood, and gold sinking in the water. "The Night of V-ngeance" is our attempt to put music to the story that old man told us, to the chronicle of a victory so brutal it became a horror legend for its enemies.
