Carrying placards that read "Khalistanis are not Sikhs" and "Khalistan Murdabad," they called on Canada to take action against these secessionist groups. Videos circulating online depicted pro-Khalistani protesters disrespecting the Indian flag, sparking outrage. The protests were organized in response to the alleged killing of Khalistan Tiger Force chief, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was reportedly shot dead in Surrey, Canada, on June 19.
