Education is an important aspect of our lives, while some of us take it for granted, there are others who crave and struggle to get it.
From Aristotle to APJ Abdul Kalam, every famous personality has time and again stressed on the importance of education in our lives.
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act or Right to Education Act (RTE), is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted on 4 August 2009, which describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education for children between 6 and 14 in India under Article 21A of the Indian Constitution.
But still, 32 million Indian children of age up to 13 years have never attended any school, 10.1 million children are engaged in work in India.
In this episode, Mr. Ajay Suman Shukla, Director, Ek Soch Foundation talks about the the fact that in spite of being mentioned in the constitution as the fundamental right, education is perceived as something that should be availed in private school. People with low income still can't avail education in India.
