Officers have been carrying out fingertip searches of Roedale Valley Allotments, which is being treated as a potential crime scene, MailOnline understands.
Police are still hopeful of finding the missing two-month-old infant alive.
But a Met Police spokesperson added: 'Whilst we hold hope that the baby is still alive, we agree that the risk to the baby is extremely high.
