Jonathan Shock is a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town, in the department of maths and applied maths. Having completed his PhD in the UK in high energy theoretical physics, he completed postdoctoral research in China, Spain and Germany, before coming to UCT in 2013.
His research interests cover theoretical physics, artificial intelligence, neuroscience and data analysis in biology and he spends a good deal of his time supervising students when he's not teaching.
