For many years I've been placing my optic at the rearmost position on my shoulder fired weapons. Whether that be a rifle, an SMG, or my stock equipped Glock, the optic is always as close to my eyes as I can get it. I like the speed that it affords and am not apologetic about it. Many years ago a friend saw my optics placement and said "you're rifle looks like an Airsofter's gun." I took that as a compliment even though he meant it as an insult. The joke is on him now because Airsoft has finally been recognized for its genius. The Airsoft/Paintball/Sims crowd are people who spend their time hunting one another down. Is that not what we're supposed to be training for? Placing your optic to the rear is weird for some people, but it is an undeniable edge that needs to be understood.
