Let's read the gospel of Matthew Ch 23. I will be reading from the New International Version :)

**In this translation, Matt 23:14 is missing (I didn't just skip it!), here is the note (' some manuscripts included here words similar to Mark 12:40 and Luke 20:47.')

'They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.” '

**In another translation, Matt 23:14 states: '[ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive greater condemnation. ] '
