🏁 Race Report – Rocar-Tech Twente Rally 2025
This weekend, Sven Hakkesteeg 🧭 and I competed in the Rocar-Tech Twente Rally 2025.
The rally consisted of 12 special stages totaling 134 km of SS, and it turned out to be a tough event — both for us and for many other crews. 💥

The rally had it all: 🌑 darkness, 🌧️ heavy rain, ☀️ sunshine, and 💩 mud. The roads were extremely challenging, and we ran the entire event on wet tires.

Friday – Day 1

The rally started with six stages, and things got off to a good start 💪 — decent grip on the tires and solid driving.
We were fourth overall after the first day, despite a few small mistakes on SS6.
Unfortunately, SS5 was cancelled 🚫 after an accident in the historic class. 💐
Get well soon, Annemieke — wishing you a speedy recovery! ❤️‍🩹

🌧️ Saturday – Day 2

Day two didn’t start quite as well. I made a mistake and lost about 15 seconds after a minor off 😅.
Shortly after, the skies opened and the rain poured down ☔️.
It became extremely slippery — we aquaplaned several times under braking 💦 — and without new tires, handling the mud-covered sections became very difficult.

Despite the tough conditions, we kept pushing 💥 and managed to score some important points on the Power Stage ⚡️.

On the final stage, which was a circuit-style loop, we unfortunately got stuck behind a car with technical issues 🔧 and lost time — without any time compensation!? 🤷‍♂️

We finished fourth overall, and we’re happy with that result!

The car performed flawlessly all weekend, even though we were running a gravel suspension setup 🛠️.
And as always, Sven did an outstanding job in the co-driver’s seat 👏 — both during this rally and throughout the entire season.
