Although this report is weak, there are plentiful other testaments from the Companions to Ali's astuteness, such as the statement of Umar, recorded by Imam Bukhari in his Sahih (4481):
أَقْضَانَا عَلِيٌّ / "The most discerning in judgment among us is Ali"
