Mission 03 - The Feral Guardians

Definitely not the best gameplay, but this is probably the best I can do. It is very mentally draining for me to complete this mission, as the attack waves are very tough as usual and as expected. Likened to the original, destroying or “infesting” all the Hives with your Arbiter immediately gives you the minerals you need to complete the mission. You are strongly encouraged to “infest” those Hives, as Hybrid Destroyers are very powerful and helpful towards your defense. It’s a pity that I lost one of the Stasis Cells.

Instead of having Raynor as a solo controllable hero, he now has his own army, and he leads his own troops to help push bases. His base also needs to be protected from time to time. If they perish, you are likely to perish too. Raynor is expendable, and will be revived after a timer.

Raszagal participates in this mission, but she is more of a liability than an asset. She is now a Protoss unit, has shields, and non-generative life. She keeps her Defiler abilities, but does not have permanent cloak. I failed the mission many times because she was killed.

The enemy is very strong with their ground attacks, especially with Guardians. Although they do not have any Lurkers, Zealots and Dragoons in comparison are still very expensive, and will be unsustainable with the shortage of resources. I have tried, and failed. Therefore, my method would be to go full air. And…

YOU NEED SCOUTS TO SNIPE THEIR GUARDIANS!! And Carriers would be your main assault force. Tough, long range, cause confusion, great for this mission.

Thankfully, their anti-air seemed a bit weaker. I’m grateful that their Scourges are only used to protect their Hives, and not used for assaulting your base. And I’m also grateful that there are no Devourers to deal with. So going full air seems great for this mission.
