This video about Defying Gravity was originally made immediately after a long conversation with my daughter, who was studying it for GCSE. But while the conversation was fresh in my mind I decided to talk to a camera about it, mainly for the potential benefit of students who are about to take their music GCSE exams and are panicking about 'Defying Gravity'! However, this is also a video for anyone who loves Wicked, or is interested in exploring connections between writing opera and music theatre.
The video was made very early in the history of the Music Professor channel. It was recorded on an iPhone with no extra microphones, and has minimal editing.
