Curtin Artificial Reef, one of Moreton Bays weekend car parks. I can tell you about the reef, how and when it was established and how long it took. I can tell you how to find the fish hanging around the area. What I can’t tell you how to catch the fish because I have only recently started fishing the artificial reefs and I haven’t figured them out yet. Fishing then as I would the shallow reefs or how I would offshore only brings moderate results, I am still learning.

I say several times in the video that there are 32 “wrecks” on the reef, but it would be more accurate to say 32 sunken items because they are not all ships as the term wrecks implies. There are sunken buoys, pontoons, pipes, car bodies, and tires as well. I think each of the 32 “items” that are said to be on the bottom constitutes one “drop”, so dropping a batch of pipes would count as one item.
Curtin is an interesting spot and given the number of apparently good fish I have lost there in the few trips I have made to it there must be some good fishing to be had if you can crack the code. One thing that is apparent is that the fish there are gourmet fish, turning away from service station bait in favour of live bait, fresh bait, and good quality frozen bait from the likes of Mr Bait at Hemmant. Come to think of it, most fish are gourmet fish.
