In the final part of the series, we explore MTFA's role in the modern era, focusing on its significant milestones and ongoing commitment to the community.
MTFA was entrusted with the prestigious responsibility of managing the Maqam of Sultan Iskandar Shah, located at the historic site of Fort Canning Hill. Sultan Iskandar Shah, one of the five rulers of 14th-century Singapore, holds a revered place in the nation's history, and MTFA’s stewardship of his tomb reflects its deep connection to the preservation of local heritage.
In 1977, MTFA launched its educational financial scheme, aimed at supporting the educational needs of the Muslim community and empowering future generations through scholarships and financial aid.
A key expansion took place in 1980 with the opening of an orphanage for girls, broadening its mission beyond the previously established boys' orphanage. This move marked a significant step in addressing the needs of both young boys and girls, providing a safe haven and support for those in need.
Join us on this historical journey to understand the significance of MTFA's evolving role and its continued impact over more than a century, as it balances tradition with progress.
