In June 2025, FEMNET convened a powerful gathering of African feminists, movement builders, and climate justice advocates for the African Feminist Academy on Climate Justice under the theme: “Advancing Feminist Climate Justice: Building Power, Shaping Policy, Transforming Futures.” This video captures a transformative space where knowledge met action, and where African women and girls sharpened the tools needed to challenge extractive systems and champion just, inclusive climate solutions.
From intergenerational dialogues to bold strategy sessions, the Academy became a catalyst for collective power—equipping participants with the skills, language, and networks to influence climate discourse from the grassroots to global platforms. It is a testament to what happens when African feminists gather not just to learn, but to lead.
